Must-See Shooting Gear at SHOT Show 2020 – Day 3

The lower level of SHOT, known by some as "the basement" is the place the newcomers get put, and the technical companies that have a specialized clientele. One such is Manson Reamers. I've known Dave Manson since forever, and he never ceases to amaze me. He showed me a muzzle threading extra that makes life easier.

To properly center the bore on a barrel, you really need a four-jaw chuck, so you can adjust the center of the bore to be the center of the lathe. Lacking a four-jaw chuck (most come with a three-jaw, and often "close enough" isn't) you really are rolling the dice. (Hey, this is Vegas.)

The Manson fixture slides into the muzzle, it rides in the tailstock, and you can chuck the breech end of the barrel in your three-jaw chuck and be just fine. (If that was greek to you, it wasn't to your gunsmith with a lathe, and he's happy now.)

No, this is not a tool you will need unless you have both a lathe and a need to thread muzzles. But if you do, this is pure gold.
