Must-See Shooting Gear at SHOT Show 2020 – Day 4

One problem with having a plate rack is, you can't just leave it at the range. Well, you can, but sooner or later some moron with a .30-30 will come along and make it into a swiss cheese rack. You can't tow it on a trailer behind your car or truck. (Well, maybe you can, but around here that's not an option.

So, you get the Mike Gibson "Plate rack in a bucket" kit. This is six plates and their hangers, made out of AR550 steel, plus a pair of assembly brackets. The whole thing fits into a five-gallon bucket with plenty of room to spare.

All you need are five lengths of 2x4, four legs and a plate hanger. The plate hanger will eventually be chewed up (how long it lasts depends on how good a shot you are) but the other four will last a good, long time. All this easily fits into the back of a pickup truck, SUV, and even a sedan if you pack it right.

And being AR550 steel, yes, Virginia, you can shoot them with your AR-15. Just be far enough away that the splatter isn't a problem.
