ANTIFA Take Over a Portion of Seattle, Including a Police Station

ANTIFA activists are claiming a seven-block area around the precinct and are calling the area “Free Capitol Hill,” declaring it autonomous from the rest of the city.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The leftist John Brown Gun Club (JBGC) is providing armed security to the Marxist-leaning groups involved, according to the local JBGC chapter’s Facebook page.

“My victory today is, yesterday we were on 11th and Pine. Today, we have victory on 12th and Pine!” a man holding a microphone is seen saying to a large crowd on the street in a Twitter video. “They tried to stop us, but guess what, the mayor said they couldn’t. They had to stand aside, and we have victory today. We have won victory today!”

Some are reporting that those who have taken over the area are armed and patrolling the boundaries of the embattled area. Many business owners in the area are living in fear of what might come next.

The takeover of the police precinct comes on the heels of Seattle Mayor Jenny Durken’s recent refusal to try to stop protests that become violent. But, rather than seeing it as the duty of protesters to protest peacefully, she seems to see it as the duty of the city—and of law enforcement—to let protesters do anything they want, regardless of the peacefulness of their actions.

“Keeping demonstrations peaceful must be a joint effort between our community members and law enforcement,” Durkan said recently. “I am hopeful that tonight, with these operational changes, our city can peacefully move forward together.”

Occurrences like this current situation in Seattle, along with municipalities like Minneapolis seriously considering defunding their police departments, show why, now more than ever, Americans must have the means and ability to protect themselves when chaos reigns and violence becomes the order of the day. With no police to serve as a deterrent, violent criminals will likely become more emboldened than ever before. And as they become bolder and bolder, armed Americans must become ever more vigilant in protecting ourselves and those we love.
