The greatest danger to our individual right to keep and bear arms in 2023 will come from the Democrat-controlled Colorado House and Senate. Information from recent local meetings and news releases makes it clear that the Liberal/Progressives intend to pass Draconian anti-Second Amendment (2A) laws during the next session of the State Legislature. We are anticipating an expansion of the classes of people who can "red flag" gun owners suspected of "being a danger to self or others;" a ban on many semi-automatic firearms; a 10-round magazine limit; and some combination of the anti-2A measures that have been introduced/passed at the city and county level, including a 10-day waiting period to purchase a firearm. Given the Democrat dominion over the legislative process in Colorado, there is almost no chance that any anti-2A measure can be defeated. This will leave the struggle for individual rights to the courts. Before new unconstitutional laws are invalidated, it is highly likely that many innocent Colorado gun-related businesspeople, and honest citizens will suffer. Please oppose all anti-2A bills in the State Legislature and support lawsuits against any measures that pass. Information on Bills is here: https://leg.colorado.gov/bills .

Joe Biden has renewed his call for a national semi-auto ban, which he wants to be taken up by the lame-duck Democrat-controlled US Congress in December. Conservatives won the US House of Representatives, which will make it more difficult for Liberals to pass anti- 2A legislation beginning in 2023. We will have to monitor “moderate” Republicans and try to reduce their tendencies to “go along to get along.” Contact information for your Federal Elected Public Servants can be found here: Members of the U.S. Congress | Congress.gov | Library of Congress . Call your County Clerk’s Office, if you need to identify your congressional district. Call U.S. House and Senate at: 1(202)-224-3121.
Be courteous and concise in your comments to all elected officials. Where appropriate, state facts and the personal impact of legislation on you and your family. It is important to let elected officials know your opinion, even if they oppose your views. They need to know there is significant, principled opposition to their intended course of action, or they will assume that no one cares and will pursue even more outrageous proposals.
